The Vapour Velcro has always been one of the most popular Scarpa climbing shoes that we sell here at Outside. It’s a true all-round performance shoe with a slight down-turn that’s adept at any angle of rock whether steep, burly and overhanging or delicate and slabby. Scarpa have recently redeveloped this shoe and the key updates include a new heel construction in microfibre which reduces weight and dramatically enhances “next to skin” comfort in the Achilles area. The new heel rand provides a more stable and higher friction zone for better heel hooks, while a revised toe rand provides improved comfort and protection on toe hooks. The new tongue construction is lighter, more breathable and retains its shape and positioning through the additional elastic in the closure.
