A beast of a down jacket, Salewa’s Ortles Heavy 2 Powertex is designed for mountaineering, climbing and expeditions. Stuffed with responsibly sourced duck down and protected by a durable ripstop outer with a PFC free DWR treatment, it’s made to cope with prolonged exposure to sub-zero temperatures.

The jacket is cut with free motion patterning and an athletic fit to prevent hem-lift while climbing and ensure full freedom of movement. The Powertex bit is the highly durable, water resistant ripstop 2-layer shell, to keep out the elements, and the Heavy bit is the 750 fill power, responsibly sourced pure duck down, zoned in a 3D down box chamber construction for enhanced insulation, within a soft and comfortable lining.

The versatile hood design is fully helmet compatible, but you can also adapt it using the zipped gusset and drawcords to give a close, precise fit when you don’t need your lid. Integrated into the high collar, the hood also has internal draft tubes both at the neck and around the face for additional storm protection. The 2-way front zip allows excellent access to your harness and belay device. At the hem, there are two cuffs to lock out cold draughts and seal in the warmth.
