Altberg Nordkapp Walking Boot

The Altberg Nordkapp is a classic 3-4 season boot which is specifically designed for use on the high lakeland fells or Munroe mountains of Scotland. It’s based on the Alt-Berg Tethera mountain boot – but the Nordkapp is built on a slightly different last with a narrower heel and more asymmetric forefoot.

The Tri-Flex midsole is an Alt-Berg design and is only used in Alt-Berg boots. All boots are built on the midsole – it is the foundation of the boot. The midsole controls the underfoot support, the toe spring and the flex of the boot. The Tri-Flex Midsole uses a unique three dimensional insole design with an N.C. controlled polymer nylon mix to achieve the optimum flex for different categories of boots. Good bootmaking starts with the midsole – customers can’t see it, it is built into the boot – but it is the most important component of the boot and it makes a huge difference to how the boot feels and performs in wear.
