The Session II is a budget bouldering pad from Metolius with a lot of the features you’d normally only find on a more expensive pad. The hinge is angled to eliminate the soft spot often found in the middle of a folding pad. A large flap extends around the bottom when closed to prevent all your bouldering paraphernalia from falling out, and there’s a stash pocket included too.

A useful addition to your bouldering set up, the Shortstop Crash Pad covers gaps and offers extra protection with little added weight. Made with 2cm closed cell foam, it nests easily inside standard or full-size crash pads and, because of the handles, it can also be used as a spotting shield.
